Today was an incredible first day of camp!! The camp spirit was in high gear!! ! We got to start the day with learning the camp song, had a play dough master chef competition, baked stained glass cookies and so much more! We learned an interesting story about a man who got distracted from his job collecting diamonds and collected chicken fat for his family instead !!! (Ask your children for more details!) this taught us how we can come in to this world to do mitzvot (good deeds) and sometimes we get distracted wit the less important things, the Torah helps us stay on track, we decorated beautiful treasure boxes and will get to fill them with “clay mitzvot” over the summer!
What a wonderful and delicious day. We learned about ahavas yisroel (being kind to one another). We had a fun candy hunt where we had to help our blindfolded friends find treats and helped us practice our ahavas yisroel. We headed out to the jelly belly factory and had a fantastic time trying different flavors and seeing how their made. When we got back we got to make some of our own jelly belly art like we saw at the factory. We even made our Camp Gan Izzy logo!
The goal with today’s adventure at the grocery store was to teach the kids about kosher, teach them how to behave like a mentch in the store by making a kiddush hashem (which means setting a good example, and representing the Jewish people in a positive way) and having fun, and we can easily say mission accomplished! In the words of the store manager “we’re ready to hire each one of them” 😂😂, the kids can now spot a kosher symbol on a product within 5 seconds! Making slime, super refreshing swimming and martial arts was engaging and fun!
We had such an incredible day! We started the morning with a fun and exiting line up, we also learnt about the “good voice” and the “bad voice” within each of us, we spoke about how it can be hard sometimes to choose the “ good voice” and the importance of make good decisions. We also had a blast at scandia. When we got back to camp we all made really awesome shrinky dink key chains and made some yummy fruit loops necklaces. Right before the day ended we got to squeeze in a game of hug-a-bear and some sports!!😃
We had a great day today! We learnt about the prayer “Modeh ani” which we say every morning to thank hashem for having a brand new day. We got to have a special tour of the fire station, with our very special jewish Firefighter Ryan! after a refreshing swim, we made Challah and had the talented musician Jonathan Khersonky play Shabbat songs for our shabbat party Thank you all for such an incredible week😄
Today was a super exciting and busy day! After tefillah and Torah learning, we jumped and raced at rebounderz, then cooled down in the swimming pool, and made our homemade ice cream! In the morning, we learnt a fascinating story about how tzedaka (charity) can save lives. Ask your child/ren for details about the story of the bride and the snake. We also learnt a little bit about the different time we wash our hands ritually (negel vasser)
We had a BLAST today! With children coming in their favorite Pajamas, we had made Cheerio breakfast necklaces. We learnt about the Mitzvah of Tzedoka (Charity) and made our own charity boxes. We had an educational trip to the farm led by Jonathan Khersonky to the farm. We made homemade Pizza! The children showcased some incredible talents, showing us very unique ways on contributing to making our world a Kinder better place! We ended the day with making Ice cream Sundaes!

WOW! What an incredible 2 weeks! We had such an amazing last day. We baked challah, decorated cookies, got ready for shabbat with a salon, getting our hair and nails done. We painted stunning art, had a Chinese auction where the children were super excited to bid and use team work. The annual bean hunt led to some fun finds. the highlight was the crazy car wash,we wrapped up the day with swimming and the farewell!
