CHAI PARTNER FAQ's
Q: What if I wish to change the amount of my monthly contribution?
A: You are welcome to change the amount at any time. Simply call, send a letter or email us and we will be glad to assist you.
Q: What if there’s a change with my credit card or my card has expired?
A: Please call, email or text us a note informing us that you changed credit cards and we’ll update the information.
Q: What if I change banks?
A: Please email us informing us that you changed checking accounts and include a voided check from your new account.
Q: When will contributions be withdrawn from my account?
A: Charges and withdrawals take place on the first of the month. If you prefer a different day, let us know and we will accommodate accordingly.
Note: if the first falls on a weekend or legal holiday the withdrawals will occur on the following business day.
Q: How long will it take for withdrawals to begin?
A: On the date you join, you will be charged for that month.
The next withdrawal will occur on the first of the following month (or on a date you prefer).
Q: What do I use for tax purposes?
A: Chabad Of Novato is a 501(c)3 organization. All your donations are tax-deductible.
In January, you will be receiving a printed and digital Year-end statement of all the donations you made during the course of the year together with a Donor Investment Report that is sent to all our donors.
Q: What are the benefits of joining Chai Club?
A: There are many benefits for joining the Chai Club:
1. The biggest benefit is the Mitvzah of Tzedakah (charity) and the promise of G-D that He will repay you on His terms
2. You get the satisfaction knowing that your support is being invested right here in your community, allowing more people to be touched by the warmth of Judaism and love of community
3. You will get invited to a once a year personal coffee meeting with Rabbi Landa and see the impact of your investment
4. You will get a quarterly Donor Appreciation Report mailed to you and video testimonials where you can appreciate your Monthly Giving
Once a year there will also be an Exclusive Donor Appreciation Event that is always a more elegant and intimate way of saying THANK YOU to our truly committed supporters - like you.
Q: Do I need to pledge each year to renew my Chai partnership?
A: No, your monthly draft will continue at the current level unless you’d like to change it or cancel.
