Hebrew School started off with a bang! What an awesome bunch of kids, all ready for an incredible year of fun learning. From Pass-the-Parcel, to Davening (Prayer) Circle, to Hebrew Reading Groups, to interactive Torah-learning all about the birth of Moses and beginning of the Jewish people’s slavery in Egypt, it was one big adventure.
Baah! Baah! Sheep were in the air at Hebrew School. We learned all about Moshe becoming the leader of the Jewish people, and why G-d chose him. He was a shepherd that tended to even the smallest and most vulnerable sheep, so G-d picked him, saying, "If you care for even the smallest of sheep, you are fit to lead My sheep, the Jewish people." The story was told through a puppet Moshe and mystery boxes, engaging the kids and keeping them on the edge of their seats. This was followed by an Art Activity of painting sheep on canvas, as we discussed the qualities needed in a good leader and how each child can emulate those qualities.
A fantastic day with fun learning, some students even passed the 1st stripe of the white level in Aleph Champ - Mazal Tov! We explored the lives of the the Jewish people In Egypt, focusing on important lessons to learn from it
We concluded unit 1 of our adventure to the holy land learning. The children got to experience the exodus from Egypt, as they “packed their bags “ and followed the 5 steps that the Jewish people had to follow before leaving . The kids traveled back in time and went from station to station , “reliving the experience".
Everyone got to taste some delicious crunchy matzah as we discussed the lesson we learn from matzah : humility.
The kids have been eagerly continuing their Hebrew reading groups, with a few more kids passing white level stripe 1

Our Torah Workshop was well underway today, as the kids decorated their Torah covers and glued and painted their dowels! We explored our peoples' greatest gift, through story-telling and hands-on learning. It was so much fun. We'll continue our Torahs at our next Hebrew School in two weeks. We finished off the day with a fun Tu B'Shvat Activity - making rainbow fruit skewers - as we discussed 3 important lessons we can learn from a tree.
A day dedicated to appreciating the key to our survival - The Gift of the Torah that Hashem gave us. The Torah belongs to each and every us, that excitement and pride was in full display at Hebrew School
Another day of fabulous fun and learning at Chabad Hebrew School! We're so proud of all our Aleph Champ Stars and the progress that each child is making in their Hebrew Reading journey. We are building a replica of the mishkan (holy sanctuary) that the Jews built in the desert. The children got to work weaving, painting, and constructing out of lego. We learnt about the story of Purim too!
